When a pool comes out, what's left behind is rarely pretty. Disturbed soil, uneven ground, compacted fill - it's a mess that needs real attention before anything green can grow. That's exactly what we stepped into on this one.

After the pool was removed, we came in and got to work grading and smoothing the area. The goal was simple: get the surface level, work in clean topsoil, and create a solid base for hydroseeding. It sounds straightforward, but the details matter a lot here. Uneven ground or poorly prepared soil will show up in the finished lawn - patchy growth, bare spots, drainage issues. None of that is what you want.

The topsoil layer we finished with gives the seed something to actually take root in. Good prep like this is what separates a lawn that fills in thick and even from one that struggles all season. We take that part seriously because the hydroseeding results depend on it.

This is a good example of how light excavation work feeds directly into the next phase of a project. It's not just moving dirt around - it's setting up every step that follows for success. We're looking forward to sharing the hydroseeding results once things green up.
