If your lawn has thin spots, compacted soil, or turf that just looks tired no matter how much you water or fertilize - core aeration is probably what it needs. Most lawns never get aerated. Over time, soil gets packed down from foot traffic, mowing, and general use. That compression cuts off the oxygen, water, and nutrients your grass roots need to thrive.

Here's how it works. A core aerator pulls small plugs of soil out of the ground - you can see exactly what those plugs look like when we pull them fresh. That process opens up the soil and gives roots room to breathe and grow deeper. The difference it makes is real, and it shows up in how the lawn looks and holds up over the following season.

We run a SCAG AerStorm with a dedicated seeder attachment. That combo lets us aerate and overseed in the same pass. The seeder drops seed directly into those freshly opened channels in the soil, which is where new grass actually takes root and fills in. It's a much more effective setup than broadcasting seed over hard ground and hoping for the best.

Pair that with a clean, well-maintained mowing routine and you end up with turf that looks sharp all season - tight stripes, even coverage, and a healthy base going into the colder months. We handle seasonal mowing as part of our regular service, so the lawn stays in good shape from one visit to the next. No gaps, no overgrown stretches between cuts.

Fall is the best window for aeration and overseeding, and our schedule books up. If you've been putting it off, now is the right time to get on the calendar. Call or text Pine Brook Landscaping and we'll get you set up.
