We brought in the skid steer to regrade the areas torn up by the foundation work, then ran a rock hound and Harley rake over everything to pull debris and get the surface smooth and ready. Once the ground was right, we hydroseeded the whole area. Hydroseed is a mix of seed, mulch, fertilizer, and tackifier sprayed on as a slurry - it holds moisture around the seed, protects it from washing out, and gives it a much better shot at germinating evenly across the whole yard. For larger disturbed areas like this, it's a far more practical approach than laying sod or hand-seeding.

The difference from start to finish is significant. Bare, churned-up soil gets a clean slate and the best possible setup for a full, healthy lawn to take hold. It's not a quick fix - grass still needs time and water - but the foundation is solid when the prep is done right.
